Is worry the same as stress?
Worry is a habit that people can fall into when they attempt to avoid consequences that actually might not happen such as ‘What if I lose my job?’ or ‘What if I become sick?’. Worry is often described as fretting or brooding. These thought pop into the mind over and over and it can be hard to stop this so-called rumination. Thinking about a problem and worrying is not the same as thinking through a problem where the situation is confronted and ways of overcoming it are considered. Active problem-solving of worries gives greater control of the emotions.
